Disciple-Making Best Practices Events for 2019

There are some great discipleship events planned for the months ahead. Gather your discipleship team, save these dates, and plan to attend. Watch this blog and the Kentucky Baptist Convention website for more details of these discipleship events, including cost and how to register. Save a combined $15 on events 1-4 by becoming a member of the Discipleship Network of Kentucky. Cost to join is only $25. Advanced registration for each event is requested.

1. Minister Mentoring

Thursday, March 21, 10:00-Noon (Eastern time). Northside Baptist Church, 1800 Pear Orchard Rd, Elizabethtown, KY. Alan Witham, Lead Regional Consultant with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, will host a panel with questions focused on mentoring and coaching. Panel includes Brandt Lyon, Twelve Oaks, Paducah; Sam Coleman, First, Richmond; Steve Thompson, retired pastor and KBC associate executive; and others. Would you like to mentor/coach a less experienced minister? Would you like to be mentored/coached? The panel will focus on how ministers can mentor others toward more effective and fruitful disciple-making. Cost: $10 for nonmembers. Free for members. Participants are invited to a fellowship lunch afterwards (dutch treat), at a nearby restaurant.

2. New and Growing Believers

What if simple tools could help you disciple others? Steve McCoy from SmallCircle.com will share about a great disciple-making strategy and tools for helping new and growing believers make discipleship progress. Come get some simple, fresh ideas for discipling.

Wednesday, May 8, 6:00-7:30 PM (Eastern time). Live event at First Baptist Church, 425 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, KY. Register with Sam Newman by emailing him at [email protected].

Thursday, May 9, 10:00-Noon (Eastern time). Live event at the Kentucky Baptist Convention, 13420 Eastpoint Centre Dr, Louisville, KY. Fellowship dutch treat lunch to follow. Event will be simulcast. 3. Discipling NextGen

Thursday, September 5, 10:00-Noon. Location TBA. Matt Flanagan, Children’s and Student Consultant with the Kentucky Baptist Convention, will help the group examine opportunities and ways to help the younger generations grow in their discipleship. 4. Developing Disciple-Making Partnerships

Monday, November 11, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Eastern time). Immanuel Baptist Church, 3100 Tates Creek Rd, Lexington, KY. Following registration, fellowship, and lunch, the meeting will feature John McClendon, Executive Director of Baptist Association of Christian Educators. Meal cost: $10. 5. D-Life Bootcamp

Saturday, September 21, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (Eastern time). Corinth Baptist Church, 1671 Old Whitley Rd, London, KY. Featuring Bill Wilks, author and lead trainer for D-Life. Discover a practical method to implement disciple-making groups in your church this year. Cost: $10. Register: www.livethedlife.com.
