Discipleship Consultation: Your Next Step

As Sunday School & Discipleship Consultant for the Kentucky Baptist Convention, I want to offer a free discipleship consultation for any KBC church. The generous support of the Cooperative Program giving of KBC churches provides for your next step.

Delivery Options

One key to all consultations is a need for two-way conversation. That means that trading emails or texts makes consultation difficult, except when focused on a very narrow subject. At the same time, because the needs and availability of pastors, discipleship leaders, and churches vary, the ways that a consultation can be delivered must also vary. Here are some of the delivery options from which you may choose:

  • Call. Discipleship strategy consultations may begin with a phone conversation with the pastor or discipleship leader.
  • Conference Call. A conference call can allow multiple people to be connected on multiple phones or simply several people meeting in a home or office focusing on discipleship strategy.
  • Video. A discipleship strategy video conversation can be set up for an individual or a group. If multiple people participate, projecting the video conference helps.
  • Face-to-face consultation. This type of discipleship strategy consultation can be for an individual or group(s).

Topics

Some leaders will have a preset agenda for the conversation, and some will not know where to start. A consultation may focus on many topics even with the within the scope of discipleship strategy. Here are some of the areas for focus: materials, methods, strategy, first generation, multiplication, communication, evaluation, tracking, and much more.

Like writing a term paper for school, efforts often start broadly and focus on outlining major areas to be addressed and then researching specific answers. That means that some discipleship strategy work may require multiple conversations and focuses. Keep in mind that much help is available on this blog.
