Farewell

Today I say farewell as the writer of 28Nineteen. On November 2, 2008, I will assume the Senior Pastor position at the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, Kentucky. My family and I are very excited about our new assignment from the Lord. Read about our move in this Kentucky Baptist Convention article or this Western Recorder article.

I am beginning a pastor’s blog called Towel and Basin–I hope you will tune in there. I’m sure that discipleship and assimilation will come up from time to time along with broader church growth topics. If you’re ever in the Shelbyville area, stop in and say hello. Of course, if I can ever be of help, don’t hestitate to give me a call at the church. My favorite Bible passage seems like an appropriate way for me to close:

“I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 1:3-6 (NIV)

Steve, thanks so much for your commitment and obvious love for the Lord. You will be missed around the hallways of the KBC. Blessings to you and your family during and beyond the transition.
